SPARKO ATEX Diesel Engine Air cut-off Valves

SPARKO ATEX diesel engine air cut-off valves are fully automatic safety devices designed for hazardous areas. They are installed in the air intake of naturally aspirated or turbocharged diesel engines to automatically stop the engine by cutting off the air supply in case of excessive over speeding.

Overview

Valve selection is based on the engine’s rating (HP) and air intake size.

The valve closes when the intake air flow increases beyond the pre-set threshold. The closing force builds up on the pre-loaded adjustable spring, overcoming spring resistance to shut the valve. Once closed, it remains shut until the engine stops.

For optimal performance, the valve should be installed between the turbocharger and the air filter. A variety of sizes and horsepower ratings are available to suit different engines.
